FIOLEE: Human Bunny
Taking the note and removing the note and sheet she gasped.
“Wow, talk about freaky.” Marshal said behind her.
She still hadn't recovered from the shock.
“Do you think it still works?” Marshal asked coming up behind her to get a better look. “It’s sort of weird that he even made this.”
“He made it for me…” Fiona sobbed.
“What do you mean he made it for you?”
Fiona turned around to look at Marshal. “Yes, now don’t go all jealous vampire on me.” She said with an eye roll.
“I didn't say a thing.” He raised his hands in to show her he was going to be nice. “It’s just weird that he made you something like this.” He snorted.
With another eye roll she reached up and was about to touch it. Maybe Marshal was right and it didn't work. But just when she was about to fix his messy hair it opened its eyes. Catching and holding hers. He smiled.
She jumped back only to bump up against Marshal who caught her to him.
“It feels like I've been here forever, waiting for you.”
Fresh tears ran down her face, as she leaned into Marshal for support.
She couldn't believe it! It was an exact replica. Down to the last detail. The only difference was the clothes, which were outdated.
“I am Gum-bot, but you can call me whatever you like.” He said with a sweet smile.
“Well Gum-bot you are now: Prince Gumball.” She told him in a shaky breath.
“Anything for you, my Fiona.” He bowed in the little room.
Marshal gave him a warning hiss. Which Fiona only took hold of his hand into hers and gave it a squeeze to reassure him. This didn't go un-noticed from the Gum-bot. His eyes followed her every move as she started her way to him.
“I know that the purpose you were made for was to love me…” Her voice trailed off as his hand caught hers and held it. It even felt like the real Gumball. “But you will have a new purpose.”
“But Gumball made me only to have love for you.”
Closing her eyes she bit her lip, “I-I know…but for the love you feel for me; is there anyway you can distribute it to the Candy residents?” She didn't even know what she was talking about or if she made any sense. “Could you do it for me?”
“I don’t know if I can, but I will try for you Fiona.” He said as he caressed her cheek lovingly. “I’ll reroute myself if you really want me too.”
“Yes, I want you too.”
“Very well, I will do so only if you tell me why you are asking me to change.”
Taking a deep breath Fiona nodded. He was in fact being reasonable. “You will now be the only Prince Gumball. You will take over the Kingdom. There is no room for just loving me; you need to share it with everyone.”
“What happened to my creator?”
“Nothing because you are here to take his place. Now share the love that was meant for me with the people of your kingdom.”
“As you wish my love.” He leaned down and pressed his pink lips lightly on hers. Before Marshal could do anything Gumball pulled back and closed his eyes. Standing still.
“He kissed you.” Marshall told her calmly.
“He doesn't know any better.” She told him, “It didn't mean anything for me Marshal.” She sighed swaying on her feet feeling light headed.
Holding her up Marshal watched her worriedly. “We really need to get you bandaged up.”
“I’ll be fine.” She waved it off.
Marshal didn't buy it, but she stood her ground. “So…how did you know this was here?” He finally asked her.
She didn't even know herself. Did she really see Gumball? Or what had given her all those visions? “When I lay unconsciously on the ground after the Lich let go of me…I had visions.”
“Oh so those visions told you how to kill Gumball?”
She nodded, “It—did…as well as told me to come here. He said that there was something here for me that would now serve a different purpose than what it was intended when it was made.”
“As in, in love you.”
“Yes.” She whispered.
Marshal held her close. Hugging her tightly, which she was glad for. She felt like an emotional wreck. Rubbing her face against Marshal’s chest, it made her feel safe. He was becoming such a great part of her life that even his smell was branded into her heart guts.
Marshal caressed her back gently, “Are you ready?” He stopped.
She looked up at him, but he wasn't looking at her.
“I’m as ready as I’ll ever be.”
Turning around to face Gum-bot she still couldn't believe it. She could pretend he was still alive—she had to in order for the Candy residents to believe it. “We will have to change your clothes though.” She told him pretending normality.
Gum-bot looked at his clothes. “What’s wrong with these?”
“Um, well they are a little outdated.” She laughed, “Come on, let’s get you changed.”
Marshal held her back, “You can go out first.” He said giving Gumball enough room to pass by.
With a raised brow Gumball excited the little space of a room.
“What was all that about?” She asked.
“Well he was made to love you and you are only wearing my underwear as shorts and stuff. I don’t want him getting ideas as you shimmied out of here.”
She punched him on the shoulder, giggling. “Really?” She started for the hole, but he caught her to him.
“Bunny, I hope you know that I love you. I don’t want you thinking I’m this obsessive husband and regret marrying me. I’m just trying to get you to smile and forget.” He kissed her. “I’m just a little bit of a dork.”
She rolled her eyes playfully and thankful for him making things lighter for her. “I know you are, but I will never regret marrying you.” She lifted herself on her tip toes and kissed his chin. “We should go now…We don’t want the others finding Gumball, right now.”
“After you, bunny.”
She smirked at him and slowly started to shimmy her thick hips out the hole. Only to hear Marshal making appreciative noises behind her.
At the other end of the hole Gumball was there to offer her a helping hand. “Do you know anything about the way the Kingdom is run?” She asked.
He shrugged, “I was mostly built to make you happy, but I was built with the real Gumball’s intelligence and curiosity for science. So I will only have to study up on how things get done.”
“Great, I’ll help you with as much as I can, but it probably won’t be much since I don’t know much about either of the royal stuff to begin with.”
“Why do you not like me anymore?” He asked out the blue.
“Yes, Marshall is my husband. But we will have a lot of time to explain all that has happened. Right now we just need you to change and give you a brief explanation of what you will tell the others.”
“Come on then. Let’s get you to your room.” Marshal joined them in a tiny bat form that sat on Fiona’s shoulder. “I don’t know about this Fiona. What if the Lich corrupted him too.” He whispered in her ear as they walked out the library and onto the hall.
“I don’t think so.” She whispered back.
“Well let’s hope not.”
She smiled at Gumball and with a snort directed at Marshal, she pushed open the door to Gumball’s bedroom. “I’ll get you some clothes.” She said as she headed towards Gumball’s large walk-in closet.
She felt overwhelmed. The room was all pink and pastels! Who on earth could withstand so much pink? She coughed. Of course Gumball did. But something caught her eye. Bright blue that seemed to out of place there! Hurrying to it she picked up and was glad that it was her clothes! Even her hat and thigh high socks were there!
Looking behind her she made sure that they weren't anywhere near the closet and quickly started changing, though she did wince when she touched her injured body. She didn't have time to examine her cuts, but she felt she would be fine. At last she put on her Bunny hat! She felt so much better with it on. She had missed it so much!
Feeling more comfortable and with more confidence she went out with some clothing for the prince as well as with her last change of clothes.
Both guys raised their brows at her. Marshal was in his normal form.
“Here you go, Prince Gumball, put these on. We’ll be right outside when you get done.”
“Remember what I told you Gum. Fiona hid you when the fight with the Lich started out in your lab. She took you to safety before she went back to the fight.” Marshal refreshed Gumball.
The Prince nodded, “Did the real Gumball perish in the fight?”
Fiona looked at Marshal, who shrugged and nodded. “He became possessed by the Lick. The only way to stop him was killing him, but—he wasn't scared…because he made you.”
“He didn't want the Candy residents knowing about his death. You are him…or the Candy residents will enter a state of shock and chaos. You know how they are. So easily scared and start to panic.”
“Yes that I do know. I will go on with this sham for my people.”
“Thank you, Gumball.” She said as she and Marshal excited the room. “Comet to the hospital, I’m going to Dr. Poundcake to check me out.”
Once outside the bedroom Marshal saw Fiona trembling. Moving quickly to her side he saw her rubbing her face with trembling fingers. “I didn't want to do it.” She started. “I didn't want to kill him…I've never killed anyone! But he told me too…he said he couldn't be saved…he said it was an addiction. He couldn't be cured is what he told me.” She cried.
Cradling her against him he felt somewhat hopeless. The things that must be going on in her head. He felt like he couldn't say anything to make it better. “I know Fiona. We needed to stop him.” He kissed her forehead gently. “You did what he wanted. And you did what any hero would do. You are the hero.”
She hiccuped, “I don’t feel like one.”
“It’s just shock. Once we are done with all this we’ll go home.”
She looked at him longingly, “I can’t. I need to find Cake.”
“Right…”He sighed, “We also need to get you patched up.”
She rolled her red-rimmed eyes.
“Come, Fiona mine.” He picked her up in his arms. “I’ll take you.”
“I can walk.” She started.
“I don’t mind.”
With a tired sigh, she slumped against him; her tense muscles loosening. “I’m tired.”
“You lost a lot of blood.”
“Yeah, but I’ll live. I've bled out more than this in previous battles.”
“Yes, but you've been in an ongoing battle for a while now.”
He laughed, “Feels that way ‘cause we didn't sleep much last night.” He winked, trying to get a smile out of her.
She blushed, “Oh shut up.”
He leaned down and kissed her rosy cheeks. “We need to get you rested.”
“Not until we find Cake.”
“I’ll look for her.” He remembered she had told him that the Ice Queen had said something about she’d taken care of Cake. “I’ll start in the Ice Kingdom.”
“Do you think she will be there?”
“Well it is out biggest lead so far.”
“I suppose, but let them bandage me up and I’ll go with you.”
“No, you really need to rest. I’ll go myself while you’re being treated, so that I can fly over there and find out quickly.”
“No, buts…at least not yet.” He winked.
She punched his arm as her face became super red. “You are such a perv!”
He pushed the double doors open, finding Dr. Poundcake with a clip board in his hands.
He looked up to see who had entered and when he saw Fiona, he gestured them to a hospital bed. “Put her on the bed.” He said as one of his nurses scurried off to fetch a couple of things.
“Do you mind if I leave her here? I need to go somewhere.”
“Yes, I’ll let Prince Gumball know she’s here.”
Marshal looked the Dr. with a straight-faced, “He knows.” He said, but he smiled lovingly at Fiona as he kissed her lightly on the forehead. “They still think you are Gum-butts fiance and I will not ruin your name with these people.” He whispered. “Once we are out of here. I’ll kiss you until I have my fill…which will take a while.”
She giggled, “You better.” she winked.
“I’ll be back quick, Bunny.”
