FIOLEE: Human Bunny

Ch. 24

She wished to say that she acquired some sort of special powers to help her fight the fight alongside her Marshal with the liquids she had found…but it wasn't meant for her. None of what she was doing was for her.

None of it…but she did everything with a heavy heart at that.

Hearing the ruckus of the battle behind her she took a deep breath. It took all her strength of will not to join. She was a heroine. THE heroine of Aaa, for globs sake! Yet she was tinkering with liquids instead of running her fist into someone.

It was almost like the time everyone in the Candy Kingdom turned into candid zombies and she was the only one that hadn't been bitten. She hid inside an emergency shower with Gumball’s lab rat, who if it weren't for the rat, the antidote would have never been done.

That had been the only time she could remember hiding and not fighting. This almost felt as hopeless as that time. But the love of her life and all the citizens of the world were involved.

With tears slipping down her face, she brought the bottled liquid to a Bunsen Burner and started boiling it.

“…grab leather gloves…”

Doing so, she found a very large pair of pink leather gloves. Her fingers only reached half way. The tip of the gloves folded back as she went to work.

‘I need to get Fiona out of here. I’ll have to do so…She’s so stubborn. She won’t listen to me even if  I ask her politely.’

Suddenly a bright idea occurred to him.

‘Duh, Duffus!’

Punching Gumball once again only to buy him enough time to do what he should have done in the first place. With his free hand he felt the weight and power as he rose it up.

He called on the dead to do his bidding.

They were easily defeated, he knew that, but they would serve as a distraction. A distraction hopefully long enough to do what was needed to be done.

He was only glad that this was just a fraction of the Lich’s power. For if it had been all, he would be forced to use his true potential…which would end up destroying everything else in its path if he lost control.

He couldn't risk being the one to end up hurting everything, including Fiona. The guilt would rest on his eternal being until the moment he died. If he ever did.

“Marshal! Watch out!” Fiona shouted in terror, but he was already countering Gumball’s blow.

He needed to get his mind straight. There was no room for error now. Not with Fiona standing so close. But once his army arrived he would command them to take her away.

“No!” Fiona cried.

He tensed. Had he been talking out loud? He was sure he wasn't, but if he had…he had just lost the element of surprise with both the Lich and Fiona. But then again…taking a quick peek over his shoulder at Fiona, he saw she wasn't looking at him. Quickly looking at Gumball, he noticed he was staring her through a tear on his wing.

A chill ran down her spine. He caught hold of her again! It could make Fiona do anything. He would be defenseless! He wouldn't hurt Fiona.

She walked unwillingly towards them. Her eyes focused on Gumballs.

“Fiona, stay back!”

She didn't listen. She continued her unwilling forward decent.

Trying to take flight with the Lich was not going so well. The Lich had seemed to gain weight as he focused on Fiona and his torn wings weren't grabbing enough air to take flight. They weren't healing as fast as he wanted.

Fiona continued getting closer, but now she seemed to be moving freely and fluidly. She wasn't fighting anymore.

“Fiona mine, you have to come back to me.” He hoped against hope she heard him.

Tears ran down her red rimmed eyes. She could hear him!

“Don’t give in! Fight it Fiona, you’re stronger than she is.” He urged her.

Where in Globs name was his army? Or anyone for that matter! He was sure they all heard the commotion coming from the room.

‘Maybe they think Fiona and Gumball is getting it on in here.’ He thought only making him burn with jealousy.

Just a couple of steps away Fiona stopped abruptly.

“Marshal! Move!” Fiona shrieked. Her lucid eyes pleading with him.

Marshal couldn't believe it, but he moved because of the fierceness in her voice. He let go of Gumball and jumped out the way before he even had time to think about the consequences to his actions.

Everything seemed to happen at once in slow motion.

The Lich with knew found freedom stood with a smug expression on its face. Fiona swung something towards Gumball that was radiating heat.

Regret, pain, sorrow, and grief were all playing in her swimming blue eyes. Yet there was also determination and resignation in her stance, just before she jumped for cover. The Lich didn't have a chance.

Marshal had now come to notice during their fight, that even if the Lich was strong it wasn't very fast.

Marshal still had time to dive towards Fiona, his body shortening just enough so that whatever Fiona threw couldn't reach him in his big monster body. He covered her body with his as the yells of pain started.

There was thrashing and the sound of sizzling as well as constant sobs and apologizing from Fiona.

“How could you Fiona?” Gumball’s voice was heard without any trace of the Lich’s voice in his.

Shakily Fiona pushed to her feet to survey her surroundings. Gumball lay in a brown heap on the floor that was still melting and bubbling.

Whipping tears away with a gloved hand Fiona hurried back and grabbed another bottle that she opened and immediately fine smoke came out as soon as the cork was gone.

Finally Marshal heard loud foot-steps coming from down the hall. It was about time.

Fiona continued. She took the bottle and walked to what was now the Gumball and Lich puddle.

“I am so sorry Gumball…” She sniffed as she poured the liquid on it.

“You stupid girl! I command you to stop!” The Lich surfaced as wherever the smoking liquid touched it turned to what looked like iced crystal. “I command you to—”

“Gumball, if you’re in there still…Which I really hope you’re not, but if you are.” Taking a shaky breath she continued. “I forgive you.”

“No, Fiona stop. It’s me Gumball. The Lich left. You don’t have to do it anymore!” He pleaded.

Marshal could see the strain on Fiona. Her arm holding the bottle was shaking, but she squared her shoulders and tipped the bottle over hearing the hiss and sizzle escape the last remaining part of the goo.

Hurrying Marshal caught Fiona to him. She trembled in his arms as objects in the room that had caught splashes of whatever she had thrown at Gumball melted or crystallized.

“I had to do it Marshal…I had to do it.” She cried into his shoulder as Banana guards and his skeletal army came bursting into the room.

With disgust Marshal turned to his normal state, readying to exit the castle through the window, but Fiona shook her head, keeping him in place.

Holding onto Marshal’s hand, Fiona didn't think she had it in her to remain in the  room as the Banana guards seemed to look around confused and scratching their backs. They didn't know what to do and frankly she didn't either.

She had lied to them. Only rewarding her with confused looks and a questioning look from Marshal.

“I need you to take all this parts with us.” Marshal told his skeletal army, after Fiona told him they needed to take what was left of Gumball with them. “Be sure to not forget any part of it as you’re carrying it to the Nightosphere.”

“I need to go get…Prince Gumball.” Fiona pulled away from Marshal.

“Where is he?” The chief Banana guard asked.

“I told you,” sometimes the Banana guards were idiots! “I took him to safety during our fight with the Lich.” Fiona sighed.

“We should all g—”

“No, only Marshal and I need to go.” Fiona took hold of Marshal’s hand for strength and escaped the clustered room.

“What are you doing Fiona?” Marshal asked. “We need to get you bandaged up, before you bleed to death.”

“In a minute.” Leading him down halls and halls of the Candy Kingdom, Fiona found what she remembered from her childhood. It was a library, with a secret compartment only she knew about.
Or so she had thought.

“What—”

“Shh…”

Crawling her way through a tiny hole her hips got stuck and she had to shimmy through. It had been years since she had gone in there. Inside the little tiny space was dusty, but that wasn't new. It was only four feet wide and about seven feet long. It wasn't really big, but she liked it in there. Off the far end there was something leaning against the wall structure with a dusty cover with a bow and a note on it. That had never been in there.

That was it.
So this was pretty sad for me when I was writing it.
I loved when I was writing I felt sad...I felt there should
be more action, but I liked it the way it was as well.

Also since this series is about to be done...about too...
I wanted to ask if ya'll would like me to like to continue with
Fiolee? Like their Life as a married couple or just do one about their kids or something?
Or maybe do another story about some other characters?

Well let me know in a comment below or a note or whatever so that I can prepare myself :D

Well, as always Mucho ♥ Love!
