FIOLEE: Human Bunny
Ch. 12
Fiona kneeled down on one knee in the ground to get a closer look at the footprints. Her thigh high sock staining at the knee.
“Where are they taking you Cake?” She asked out loud.
Looking ahead following the prints there seemed as if others joined them. It almost looked like a herd had trampled through, but they just seemed to appear out of nowhere.
She felt in her guts that she was getting closer. Or maybe it was the sudden cold? She chaffed her arms to warm herself. She stood and pushed on. There was no time for her to stop and put on her warm change of clothes.
She needed to rescue Cake.
Glad his vision was better at night then in the morning he found a couple traces of where Fiona might be. He hoped he had followed the correct foot prints. There had been a couple of different sets of footprints to follow and he’d just taken the chance and followed one.
Fiona couldn't have been that far ahead. It had only been an hour when Fiona had left his home before he followed. But a nagging sensation seemed to have taken residence in his head. He was faster than Fiona when he floated. How much faster was he now when he was flying with purpose? He should have caught up with her long ago.
What if he had chosen the wrong tracks? Maybe someone was trying to throw him of Fiona’s tracks? Maybe the same person who had kidnapped Cake was trying to throw him off?
He didn't know what to do…he could turn back and follow the other tracks or keep going on the one he was on.
______________________________________________________________________________________
It had been getting unusually cold. Pulling out her warm jacket, Cake had made her last winter. She ignored the tingling numbness on her legs they were pleading her for warmth that she wouldn't give.
Finally the first break, up ahead was an echoing sobbing. It sounded familiar. “Cake?” but she knew it wasn't her.
Hurrying over to where the sounds seemed to come. There was snow surrounding the area where the sobbing originated. Sitting huddled at the base of a tree was the Ice Queen.
Fiona launched herself at her, her demon sword in the ready.
Catching her by surprise Fiona managed to pin her to the tree with the sword on the Ice Queens throat. “Where have you taken Cake!”
The Ice Queen looked surprised to see Fiona there. A weird look in her eyes seemed to turn on.
“Fiona…?”
“Cake! Where is she?”
The Ice Queen blinked, and for the first time in Fiona’s memory she thought the Ice Queen sounded sane. “He has her. I haven’t touched her…but I did see when they took her.” The Ice Queen ignored the sword at her throat and took hold of Fiona’s sweater in her fist to bring her closer.
Taking Fiona by complete surprise that she sliced Ice Queen’s throat just a tiny bit, but it did draw blood which was strangely bluish. “Don’t trust him Fiona. I thought it was only my wizard eyes, but they are not. I know what I saw. He’s doing it!”
“He who, Ice Queen?”
The Ice Queen seemed to finally focus and the crazy came back into her eyes. “Why do you always get the guys? Always hogging the prince’s for yourself and not letting anyone else be happy.” She stood pushing a confused Fiona away. “You are not such a wonderful beauty everyone thinks you are.” She laughed manically and flew away.
Fiona was left confused while staring after the Ice Queen. Why hadn't she stopped her? Demanded answers? Or beat the answers to her questions for Globs sake!
She just stood there stupidly letting the Ice Queen get away without revealing Cake’s whereabouts. But she had said she’d seen THEM take Cake. So it must not have been a coincidence that she was near some tracks she had been following.
She rushed through the tree’s with more purpose. She was close, she was sure of it.
She didn't have to search long. Up ahead was a big cave. Bigger than Marshal’s cave.
She silently hurried over, while making sure that there was no one around. Everything seemed clear, but she remained stealthy and vigilant. She had found the right place. There were cells in the cave.
She saw a flash of white and gold. ‘Cake!’ her mind raced, but there were other cells that were filled up. Moving closer to get a better look she was surprised to see Gumball in one cell and in the middle cell was…Marshall Lee pacing the cell.
Searching the cave again she couldn't see who or what held them captive. Moving closer she hid behind a rock that was next to the cells, but she didn't see anything. Placing her hand and sword on the rock she leaned forward trying to figure out what she might do to free her family and friends. But how was she going to avoid getting caught if she didn't know where the capturer was.
Something started groaning and then started shaking beneath her hands. Before she even realized what was happening her hands had fused with the rock. Her demon sword that she had in her hand fused only at the hilt as well only to have the point of her sword pointing forward.
Trying to pull her hands out she stifled groan of frustration.
“Well, finally you decide to show up, human adventuress. How sweet of you in accepting my invitation.”
Fiona stopped to look. But the voice was coming from a darker part of the cave. So it was only a huge shadow within the shadows.
Who could it be?
The rock which her hands had fused in grew arms and legs and quickly caught her around her waist and pulled her to him. Her feet left the floor and but she pushed hard against it. “Who are you? And what are you doing with my friends?”
There was a tongue clucking sound, “Tsk, Tsk.” He reproached. “Patience is a virtue, my sweet dear.”
“Fiona…” She turned to see Gumball and Marshall looking at her with sadness and hopelessness.
Why hadn't Cake gotten up?
“I’m sorry you guys. I’ll get you out of here.” She assured them.
The thing laughed, “How do you plan to do that little girl?”
She couldn't fail them. Not now.
“What do you want?” She asked.
“I want you to suffer what I've suffered at the hands of heros.”
“I had nothing to do with your suffering. I don’t even know you.”
“Correct…but you’re a hero and I hate, Heroes!”
“Can’t you let my friends go and just…just keep me?”
“A martyr are we?” It laughed once again.
“As tempting as that sounds I wont accept your offer.”
“Please just let them go. I’m the hero, just do with me what you please, but let them go.”
“No Fiona!” Both Marshal and Gumball said in unison.
Her head turned to see them both pleading with her. It would have been funny if it weren't for the situation to watch both of them with similar expressions and speaking in unison. “Don’t do it.” Marshal told her.
“Is this your lover boy? I've heard a lot of rumor about him. A king isn't he?”
“Let Fiona go…you can take me.” He said.
“Hmm…I might just take that offer.” The thing said.
“Marshal, No!” Fiona started pulling away from the rock, but only to be reminded that she was a captive. She tried desperately to get free.
A part of the cave broke away from the wall it was another rock soldier like the one she was stuck in. It went toward Marshal’s cell to free him. He didn't fight as the rock fused his hand to it so they could walk into the shadows.
“Marshal!” She tried her hardest to yank her arms out even after it felt like her arms were being ripped apart. “Marshal, please…no!”
A different rock came forward and fused Marshal’s other arm. “Try to flee little vampire and I kill the human as well as the others.”
“I wont run.” He replied seriously.
“Very good.” The thing replied in a satisfied voice.
Fiona saw something fiery and long slither out.
CUR-WHACK!
It took her a moment to realize what happen. The sound still echoed in the cave as well as a hissing sound. Marshal had just been whipped with the slithering fiery whip thing.
Fiona could faintly see Marshal’s torn plaid shirt and the blistering cut on his chest. There was the smell of smoke. Something seemed odd about the way it smelled, but she didn't give it much thought. She could only hear the shrill screams she made as she called his name.
“No! Let him go! Please let him go! He has nothing to do with this! For Globs sake stop hurting him!”
Cruel laughter echoed in the cave. “Watching how you grovel when I hurt your lover boy, brings joy to my cold heart.”
“Please stop it! I’ll Kill you!”
There was another sound of a cracking whip as well as Marshal Lee’s hissing and freshly burned flesh. Fiona sobbed, “Marshal…Marshal I love you.” Her tears blurred her vision that way she only heard rather than saw Marshal being hurt. “I’m so sorry, so sorry for bringing you in to my life.” She sobbed.
The thing laughed. “I do love how you suffer.” It continued to whip Marshal’s body bloody.
With hands that seemed as if they had just been put through hell. Fiona lay on her capturer, rock, and cried her heart out. It had been a while now that Marshal had stopped making any kind of noise. His body heavily battered was only standing, but slumped forward because of the rocks holding him.
“It isn't fun when the victim doesn't show the proper enthusiasm. Oh well I do suppose it’s time to put him back in his cell. Let him go. Let him crawl to his cell.” But when they let go of his hands and he crumpled to the floor like a chard rag-doll. That was when they noticed…he wasn't moving.
“N-noo!” She croaked in a whispery voice. Her voice was gone due to her calling out Marshal’s voice and pleading with the thing. “Marshal! Get up.”
“Well I do think I might have gone too far.” It said. “Oh well, throw him out. I still have two more to make her suffer before I move on to her.”
“Marshal Lee!”
“Lover boy is dead, girl.” The thing said, “To bad, it was fun watching him squirm.”
Fiona let out a blood-curling scream that echoed in the cave before darkness took her.

~Winter season~
Fionna's POV:
I just love winter. Yes, I don't get to wear my usual attire but the snow was just... calming to me. "Cake," I said, "I'm going out."
"Where are you going Fionna??"
"Just walking around."
"Okay, be careful."
I giggled and put on my little blue coat and jeans before I went out. I saw that it was snowing and I practically jumped with joy. I looked up and remembered what Marshall Lee said. He didn't really like snow. I looked toward his cave and walked to it.
~At Marshall's~
"Marshall," I said, knocking on his door, "are you here?"
"What do you want Fi, you know I don't like snow."
